Such a mess.

This changing the blog name thing has been such a mess. I did it the stupid way instead of making sure all my ducks were in a row. I'm currently in the process of notifying all my previous followers of the change & that they'll need to refollow me... So with that being said.. IF you can read this can you please leave a comment so I know who I need to notify? There is a huge long process that I could do to reroute my followers but it's too complicated and makes my brain hurt. So sorry for the mess this has caused!

Happy Sunday everyone! I'll tell ya what, I'm super excited! I have wanted to take on a more active role on my blog in making stuff... but I've always been wayyy too timid. This weekend I took the plunge and downloaded Adobe Photoshop as a trial edition... and man, am I in LOVE! I'm just a beginner, and I know I have ALOOOOT to learn, but the first basics I made were a new signature (down below; its definitely not as transparent as I'd hoped it'd be!) & a new banner since I changed my blog name... I definitely feel like this new blog name fits me entirely better than the previous one. So over the next couple of weeks I will definitely be working to get more proficient with Photoshop and see what creative things I can come up with. It's definitely another way for me to use a creative outlet... I literally played with Photoshop for like 5 hours last night! VectorStock.com is definitely a fabulous place to get vector images... I was amazed and in awe when I tried to find what I wanted to use.

Thankful Thursday.

This week, I am especially thankful for:
{this did not post last week for some reason... so this is my thankful thursday for 2/23}

{1} My mom's birthday on Friday... she will be 62 and doesn't look a day over 50. I was my parents miracle baby. My mom was 36 and my dad was 47 when they had me; both had been told that due to various medical issues, they'd never have children... I've been alive for almost 26 years :)

{2} Jeans week at work! There's something amazing about not having to get up in the morning and decide which dress pants I want to wear today, lol. 

{3} My new Hello Kitty earrings! They're so sparkly!! 

{4} My new panda bear pouch thingie. She has a bow at the top, where that purple splotch is.. and when you open it, it sticks its tongue out! And it has a tail! LOL... as soon as I saw this, I had to have it. I'm such a kid at heart.

{5} The Walking Dead. If you watch The Walking Dead, you score major bonus points with me.

{6} The fact that March 23rd draws closer and closer... The premiere of the first Hunger Games movie... the trailer kills me everytime... that is seriously a phenomenal series of books. 

{7} Reality TV... it rots my brain. Especially Survivor and The Real Housewives franchise. I've watched Survivor for LITERALLY its entire run. I have not missed a season. Jeff Probst is my future husband.

{8} Finally remembering how to make the é in Windows. Because that is REALLY how my name is spelled. On my birth certificate my name is Desirée Michelle.

Thankful Thursday.

This week, I am especially thankful for:

Yesterday (Wednesday) was my day off. Mid-morning I started receiving text messages about a co-worker. Then got a call from my boss. One of my co-workers had a sudden heart attack on Tuesday night and passed away. Hopefully, peacefully. He told his wife he wasn't feeling well, and went to lay down... She went to check on him shortly after, and he had passed on. So today, I find myself thankful for nothing short of having the ability to post this to my blog. My ability to still be breathing, to still be living. Joe on Tuesday was joking, laughing, being his usual self... then in the blink of an eye he was gone. If that doesn't put life into perspective, I honestly don't know what else will. I find myself getting so wrapped up in my daily routine, or the things I'm planning or doing... that I sometimes lose sight of the fundamental basics: That God has given me another day on Earth. 

When it comes down to it.. material things don't matter much. We all have our certain addictions, or things that we hoard. We all, at some time or another, have taken our lives for granted. Its kind of eerie, really. That I had JUST talked to him, I had JUST helped him with some stuff at work. Then all of a sudden... he was gone.

So, today, above all... I am thankful to be alive. Through the troubles, the hardships, the tears, the smiles, the mountains I sometimes have to climb... I am thankful for life. As I should be. Every day.
